Lately, I feel like all I've been blogging about are books and TV. And I promise to get back to all the wonderful deep thoughts I have, you know, as soon as I have some.
But the news about a 90210 spin-off cannot be ignored. I mean, it's just so completely dreadful. And the worst of it? Rob Thomas is involved!!! No, not the Matchbox 20 guy, the mastermind behind one of my dearly departed TV series, Veronica Mars. It all just seems so wrong. But that's just me.
Where are the fresh and original ideas??
Anyway, next week I'm really going to mix things up when I blog about Andrew Peterson and his new....book. Ha. No, but really I kind of like what I'm thinking up for Kat's Music Monday. And yes, it will relate to AP but only slightly. So I hope you'll swing by!

I hadn't heard that they were thinking about a spinoff. The only 90210 stuff I have been hearing is in regards/relation to Tori Spelling's book.
Hmmm...
I liked it when I was too young to know better. But why in the world would I want to watch this? I was totally excited about quarterlife which NBC axed after only ONE show. PATHETIC. And I think that WAS original (sort of.) I mean, My So Called Life was just sort of a high school version of Thirtysomething (which I have never seen, and I want to rent I think) and Quarterlife is just the 20s version of those. But I LIKED it. I can still watch it online, which is great. But I am still disappointed.
Megan, Ok, admittedly I liked it when I was young, too, for the first few seasons. But when I watched it as an adult, I couldn't believe the cheese! :)
I didn't manage to catch quarterlife but I HATE how quickly they cancel programs now. I did like My So Called Life back in the day and have been wanting to watch that show again. I also just adore both Claire Danes and Jared Leto. I haven't seen Thirtysomething....is it on DVD? I'd also be interested in watching it.
I assume Thritysomething is on DVD. MSCL is and just to rub it in I HAVE THEM. I used to watch them a lot a few years ago.
LOVE Claire and Jared as well.
30 Seconds to Mars happens to be one of my favorite bands.
Not sure if you have heard the song playing in the New Amsterdam promos.
Yeah, 30 Second to Mars song and I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited.
You want to know what about the cheese factor? I can't even stand to watch Friends because it is too cheesey now. I think that can happen with anything older. If that makes any sense.
I, um, only know that one 30 Seconds to Mars song that used to play on the radio all the time. But it's definitely one of my favorite windows-down-in-the-car-sunny-day sort of songs.
Friends is cheesy already??
I can't stand to watch friend, but I can also barely stand to read books over, even if I have loved them.
I miss Veronica Mars too. And I have wondered if is the same Rob Thomas. :)
I'm busy working my way through the Veronica Mars series DVDs and am thoroughly enjoying it !
Gavin,
I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
UPDATE: "CW star DUSTIN MILLIGAN ("Runaway") has the prestigious distinction of being the first actor to join the network's planned spinoff of "Beverly Hills 90210," Entertainment Weekly reports."
I have no idea who this guy is. But I thought you might want to know!
