A couple of weeks ago I asked you all to share your favorite hymns and the answers were all different! I don't think anyone said "It is Well" That surprised me.
My favorite hymn was written by A.B. Simpson. I really love the words.(you know more than the music) I grew up in a Christian and Missionary Alliance church so this is as classic as "Great is Thy Faithfulness" to me. I'm going to put the first stanza here for you.
"Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word.
Once His gifts I wanted, Now the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing, Now Himself alone."
You can read an article he wrote and the rest of the words here.

yep, I like that hymn too. My husband is an alliance pastor right now :)
Amy, I don't remember what I listed as one of my favorite hymns, but "It Is Well" would be one of my top 5. I'm spending a week with my daughter who is in seminary, and also playing for chapel services. I am starting off with a piano solo arrangement of "It Is Well," and then the student body will sing it.
Carole, that's really cool! I love It is Well, it's so beautiful with such comforting/challenging words.
Tara...very cool. I'm an alliance PK so I have something in common with your kids. :)
