Fandango is that service that allows you to buy your movie tickets online and pay a dollar extra for the privilege! You don't actually get to print your tickets at home, though, you have to pick them up at the little kiosk...or get this, in line!
I belong to various reward programs and was receiving fandango points for awhile (and consequently seeing a lot more movies in the theater). All was fine and dandy until I tried to use two promotional codes at once. I thought this was impossible, but a little message popped up that said, "do you have another promotional code to use?" I thought it was pretty cool that they were going to make this easy on me--one transaction for two tickets --clicked yes and entered my other code. They showed me the total, I was cool with it and I clicked okay. Then all of a sudden, I get my total, and THEY DIDN'T APPLY the other promotional code.
Now let me tell you something. I'm really careful about this stuff. I know for a fact, especially since I was doubtful they'd accept two codes, that the total they showed me when I clicked ok reflected two promotional codes used.
So, the movie was about to start and we had to leave, but later on I emailed them my complaint. They suggested I contact the movie theater for a refund. I responded that was ridiculous since it had nothing to do with the movie theater and explained my situation again. I got the same response. (this time without the option to respond) So I emailed them a third time and let my frustration show. "I don't think you're actually reading my complaint" I said. They responded that I should be more careful next time when entering my promotion codes.
So basically, they sealed the deal that I will never use their service again. You know, I wasn't really looking for any money, just an acknowledgement about what happened, or a "we'll check out our computer glitch thanks for letting us know about it."
I used up my last promotional code this weekend on Wanted which was a perfect summer blockbuster sort of movie with lots of shooting and stuff.
So, what's the point of Fandango? You have to pay extra money to use them and they are very defensive in the customer service department that doesn't sit well with me.
Anyone else have any experience like this?

I won't be much help. I have heard of this service, but never actually used it.
I do not tolerate bad customer service. Good for you for being done with them - and for putting their bad service out on the internet for all to read!
I've never used Fandango before. I just never understood the point since it doesn't allow you to print the tickets. Thanks for the heads up about them. Good for you for being persistent with them. You should send them a link to this post.
Soooo, what did you think of Wanted--other than the McAvoy hotness factor? Is it worth seeing? I may be able to convince my husband to go this weekend, but I don't want him to have to sit through it if it isn't very good just for my McAvoy obsession.
Well....the action sequence are cool but there is this whole loom thing that's a bit...lame. but will the hubby enjoy Angelina?
I also thought it was somewhat funny. I'm easy to please though.
