About the Book: You’ve got mail … lots of it! Author Nancy Rue loves getting letters from her readers, but finding the time to answer them has always been a challenge. Dear Nancy was born from a desire to connect with readers in-depth by really answering their questions, particularly the ones she gets asked over and over, like, “How did you become a writer?” and “What’s your favorite Scripture verse?” for example. Readers want more than just tips on writing, though—they want to know about Sophie and Lily, about boys and friends, about growing up, and even more about Nancy herself. So here’s a peek into Nancy’s mailbox with answers on topics that are closest to tween girls’ hearts.
My Review: What a fantastic book. Okay so admittedly I have not yet read Nancy Rue's Faithgirlz books though the first in her newest series is on my Read-a-thon list. Even so I absolutely devoured this little book. Nancy answers the questions she has received very conversationally and tackles many huge issues with grace and compassion. She covers a wide range of topics and some of the questions really tugged at my heart. My favorite chapter was about her personally but I'm sure her young fans will love the glimpses into her characters and the writing life.
This would be a great resource for fans of her books. It's great to have such a fine author as a role model for young tween girls. I was actually feeling pretty jealous of her job as I read...what a privilege to be so respected by young girls!
Be sure to check out the Faithgirlz site and get acquainted with these great books!
