Today's question is something you may have already written about on your blog in some form, but it seems appropriate as the first question for the year.
What are your reading goals for the new year? Do you have plans to read through the Bible or complete any Bible studies? Do you hope to expand your reading horizons or reread some old favorites? Do you want to read more fiction or non-fiction? Do you want to increase the amount of Christian fiction you read? Do you have any goals for reading as it relates to your blog?
My answer: I do want to get into a plan to read the Bible...maybe not through the whole thing, but possibly topically. Also, I have a couple of Beth Moore Bible studies I haven't done that I'd like to do. I always hope to expand my reading horizons. I think I'd like to keep about the same mix of Christian fiction and general market that I currently read. As far as my blog? I think I'd like to review just a little less so I can better digest what I read and offer authors a little better coverage.

Well, this is the deal with me. I read 97 books last year. Just 3 shy of 100. My goal for this next year is to top 100 or at lest make it that far. Also, I do several Bible studies so that is never a problem. I just do whatever the current study is.
Thanks for hosting.
I'm reading the New Testament this year... both in The Bible Illuminated: The Book New Testament and reading my actual BIBLE New Testament. That's my Christian reading goal for the year. I am hoping to pick up some good Christian fiction here and there throughout the year as well.
I am looking forward to starting a good Bible study. I want to really spend some time in the word, but definitely with some good direction. :) Thank you again, Amy for your thoughtful questions.
Blessings

Thanks for posting. I have my answer up on my blog.
I actually posted my goals last week. I do hope to do the Bible in a Year, doing it with my hubby.

Good Q for start of year!
Good Afternoon Amy! Thanks for the question! I have been thinking about this for the last couple of days so I am so glad you posted the question. Here is my link http://frommipov.blogspot.com/2009/01/faith-and-fiction-saturdays.html
I encourage you to really work on reading through the Bible in a year. It helps you to put sections in context to the whole Bible. And, it will keep you from adopting a doctrine that can't be supported Biblically. In this day and age, that is very important. But most of all, reading through the Bible helps you come to a greater understanding of who God is.
Thanks for commenting on my HELP post, Amy. I'm happy to have your blog back on my feeder.
There are so many fun challenges for this year. I love joining them but I did lousy last year so I'm trying to hold off. I definitely need to spend more time reading the scriptures. That would be a good new year's resolution.
I finally got my post up. Great questions, Amy! I'm always up for expanding my reading horizon's too.
I linked my "new books" post from my personal blog, in which I said my basic plan is to read this year as though my entire sustenance were pages and ink.
I've always failed at Bible reading plans. I just don't keep up with them well.
I plan to get through as many works of great imaginative literature as I can this year.
Thanks for your input everyone! I look forward to reading all your responses.
I'm playing catch up on a few of these so here's the post with this and a few other answers.
