Welcome to Faith 'n Fiction Saturday. If this is your first time participating, please read this post. It will tell you everything you need to know!
This week is more about faith and less about fiction. Since Resurrection Sunday, aka Easter, is one of the most important celebrations of our faith, I thought it would be fun to share with each other one or more of the following:
1) How do you celebrate Easter?
2) Do you have a special Easter memory?
3) Do you have a favorite verse or song for this time of year?
I'm going for option 3...and sharing with you some lyrics from my singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson. The whole song is completely fantastic and if you don't listen to Andrew Peterson, I highly recommend that you check him out. I've never seen the movie High Noon, but that doesn't diminish my enjoyment of this song...here's one of my favorite parts..
"High noon in the valley of the shadow
When the shadows were shot through with light
When Jesus took in that breath
And shattered all Death with his life
So long, you wages of sin
Go on, don't you come back again
I've been raised and redeemed
You've lost all your sting
To the victor of the battle
High noon in the valley of the shadow"
I love that Jesus shattered all death with His life. :)

Oh good one, Amy! I did a little something different, had some fun and had my 5 year old former little boy self answer option #2 on Free Spirit-

Happy Easter to you as well, Amy! I think Easter is such an important event. I celebrate it throughout the entire Lent period, I do a lot of soul searching and soul cleaning to get me closer to God.
Thanks for the idea! I posted a you tube video of my favorite song. The images are simple, but it really got to me. I hope everyone enjoys.
I love Andrew Peterson too. That song is great ;)
I'm hoping to keep up with Faith and Fiction Saturdays; I like the concept. Thanks for hosting.
I enjoyed this question. Easter traditions were hard to come up with but I went with option 3 and posted the words to a favorite song that I think is especially appropriate this time of the Christian year.
Amy, I'm sorry I didn't get to participate today, but I had our family Easter dinner today, and then we all went to church. Our church has 30 services this weekend (yes, 30) and we go Saturday so that more seats will be available for Sunday attenders.
I wish you a Blessed Easter as you celebrate our risen Lord.
