Welcome to Faith and Fiction Saturday, where we discuss the intersection of faith and fiction. Feel free to join in comments or write a post on your own blog.
Faith and Fiction Saturday is normally about the Christian faith, but it doesn't always have to be.
I was thinking this year about books set during Hanukkah. Christmas books are very popular--as Christmas provides an excellent backdrop for times of transformation. It's a holiday that emphasizes community, giving, and reflection. But what about Hanukkah?
First of all, I know Hanukkah isn't a major holiday, but it certainly is a beautiful holiday from my perspective. And I was curious if there were any books set during this time period for adults. I know there are several picture books.
I think it would be interesting to have more books that are either set during this time period or include significant scenes. It's quite possible they already exist and I just don't know about it. Educate me! Tell me books...any books, romance, general fiction, middle grade and up. I await my education.
