Checking In

It's been a little quieter around here lately because this is the very busiest time of my blogging year. Book Blogger Appreciation Week, aka BBAW, is just around the corner and while it may not seem like a big deal, there are a thousand little details that need to be tended to, emails to be answered, links to be made, trying to make sure everything is staying on track and moving forward, and noting what can be done differently the next time around.

On top of that we are in the process of working towards a short list for the Inspys and I have stacks of books to read for that, while also making sure everything stays on track there. I definitely know things have to change in our processes for the INSPYs next year so trying to figure that out is a huge distraction for me as well. :)

I'm also admittedly lacking inspiration. There are a few posts sitting half finished in drafts and I can't seem to make them get any farther, and it's really not for lack of trying. There's a feature I've wanted to debut for awhile that lacks a name. Also, it's so hot.

I think this may be the longest dry spell I've ever gone through, but I'm not too worried. I know inspiration will return in some form at some point and until then, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still around, on Twitter, here, and reading your blogs.

Totally understandable that you are having a dry spell with all the distractions! You really do a wonderful job with everything you do though Amy, and we appreciate that. I need to get my review writing mojo on here pretty soon, or I'm going to run out of pre-posts. I find that this time of year I'm writing like a fool, with everyone's special projects, BBAW posts and stuff. Time for a Red Bull!

lol you know I've never tried Red Bull? Thanks for the kind comment, though Sandy and congrats on your nomination!
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, Amy! Good luck with it all :-)

I am finally getting over that "dry spell" too... had a few weeks where I wasnt reading much so no reviews... finally I feel as though now that fall is coming I am able to find more time to read - and want to read.

It's SO hard when you're not reading or not finishing much of what you're reading. This year has been interesting in that regard for me.
I don't know how you keep up with it all!!

Not very well at times, :)
It does sound like you are very busy right now, but rest assured that even if you aren't regularly posting, your contributions are so appreciated by the rest of us. I can't imagine having that much on my plate and being so invested in seeing that other bloggers are recognized and valued. Don't worry, we will wait for you!

Aw, thanks this is one of the nicest things someone has said!!!
I wonder if we will get some of the Irene leftovers to take away some of our environmental dry spell. Maybe that will help with the writing dry spell, that I too am experiencing! Even though I just finished The Scorpio Races which I totally loved, I can't think of a single thing to say about it except I love Maggie Stiefvater! ...not very inspirational...

So jealous you read that book already! Not that I could be reading it if I had it...
Hey Amy, I feel your pain; I just took August off for the same reason. I just can't write whilst the sun is shining and it seems everyone but me is on holiday. Enjoy your break and good luck with all the other projects! BBAW in particular looks like it's going to be great x

I know you are crazy busy - and we appreciate all that you do. :) We'll still be here when you have time to blog!
Amy, you are one of the busiest bloggers I know, and when you are away from your blog or twitter or whatever I always think of the million projects you have going on behind the scenes. Thanks so much for doing everything you do for the blogging community, and no worries! We love you all the more for it.

summer and all of the projects you have going on can lead to burn out. So take it easy, chill and see ya when I see ya. You do so much for the blogging community that I don't believe you ever have to apologize :)
Inspiration sometimes needs a break too!
