Film Club is discussing Point Break on July 26th. I have never seen this before but it was Jodie's suggestion, so I'm assuming she'll have many brilliant things to say about it. Should be fun!

Speaking of Jodie, it came to my attention this weekend that some people thought she has stopped blogging. She has not stopped blogging! She only moved platforms and is on dreamwidth now. So you can catch all of her brilliant and insightful reviews over there. Also, she is currently hosting a small press blog tour of sorts, so you should definitely check it out.

Speaking of Film Club the first six months are almost up, if you have any film title suggestions for the next six months let us know! By the way, you should all definitely watch Another Earth for next month, it's really interesting with an ending that begs discussion! Oh if you make a suggestion I will assume you will actually want to discuss that movie with us...

Another Reminder of Great Importance

The showing for last month's Faith and Fiction Round Table depressed me. I was the only person who finished the book. So I am going to try to promote the next one a bit more. We are discussing Gilead by Marilynne Robinson on September 29th. This gives you plenty of time to acquire the book and read it!

Announcement You Might Have Missed

Due to a lot of changes in our personal lives, the INSPYs board decided to put the awards on hiatus this year. Trust me, this was a very difficult decision, but it gives us a chance to really rework the process in a way that is sustainable.

Some Random TV News

Okay it's not that random, but Damon Lindelof has signed on to work on the TV show adaptation of The Leftovers by Tom Perotta. The AV Club report on it made me laugh, but it could be good, I mean, who knows? I still need to read this book.

And Carlton Cuse's Psycho prequel show has a ten episode order...so...I don't know, like, I want these shows to be good, but I have my doubts about both!

In more immediate news, The Closer is back tonight and The L.A. Complex is back next week, yay!
