Please read Zom-B so we can Discuss on October 28th!

I love nothing more than a good zombie story and Zom-B certainly delivers that. Zombie stories, like most horror/supernatural stories tend to be about something other than zombies and often they explore the sort of mindlessness that pervades our culture. I think Zom-B does that on multiple levels but I can't really talk about it too much without spoiling a significant part of the book, which I absolutely do not want to do. It's kind of frustrating, though, because I think it's really smart and clever and I WANT to talk about it!

But I can't...yet. So I'm just going to say this. You might be tempted to give this a book a miss, but when it comes out on October 16th, I encourage you to think again and pick it up and read it. And then on...let's say October 28th, I'll post my more in-depth thoughts about Zom-B (under spoiler cover) and we can all discuss it then.

Please know this book is gruesome and all, I mean it's a zombie story, but I still want to chat about it!

Putting in my order at Amazon... any other great zombie books you'd recommend? I just read This Is Not a Test, which I thought was great. I thought The Forest of Hands and Teeth was good, but the second and third books less so. I need more zombie reads!

aw, I LOVED This is Not a Test. :)

but the second and third books less so.

LOL. I agree, though I've been trying to read the second book for two years and still haven't finished.

I recommend The Reapers are the Angels--a really beautiful literary zombie book, Mira Grant's Newsflesh series for a really smart unique zombie world, and I haven't finished this yetttt but Sophie Jordan's Afterlight book seems really interesting. Yay zombies!

Also do you watch The Walking Dead??
Yay! I'm so glad we picked it up at ALA! I'm going to pick it up as soon as I'm done editing the massive piece of massiveness today. Thank you for giving me a book to pick up, especially since my brain is fried and I can't choose myself. LOL

PS...My brain has been rewired to think only about Mumford & Sons non-stop. I'm pretty sure my ms has some undertones of their music. Haha!

I'm pretty sure my ms has some undertones of their music.

Sounds excellent to me!
