Happy Freedom Day!

No I don't mean yay! celebrate freedom we get to vote, though that's very nice. I mean we will be free of this election! Which means we are soon to be free of all the campaigning, political ads, and weird stuff people put on Facebook/Twitter, etc.

I understand that politics are important, but the method used to discuss them doesn't agree with my temperment, normally, so I'm happy to have this done.

I will be voting, though, the old fashioned way--going to a voting booth. How about you?

If I could elect any fictional political leader it would probably be Birgitte Nyborg. Who is your favorite fictional politician?

I don't watch much TV so I didn't see the ads and the politicians aren't interested in South Carolina so we didn't get any flyers or robo-calls. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I will be voting soon.

I voted on Thursday and take this all very seriously. But I just can't handle the ugliness on both sides. I've been off FB for the last three weeks, and life has been much, much better.

We are going on two years with non- stop political adds. Not having them on all the time might freak me out.
I’m glad that I voted early, but for some reason I kind of miss voting today.
I think what I am going to miss most of all is all the robo calls that I have been getting. I got six of them yesterday.

I don't think we've been too badly overwhelmed with candidate ads here in MD, especially after spending a weekend in VA this summer, but the statewide question commercials have been out of control. And I usually only watch recorded programs and fast forward through commercials. I will be so glad when today is over just for that.

The ugliness of this campaign has saddened me. The discussion doesn't agree with my temperment either. But I happily voted this morning. President Jed Bartlet (the west wing) forever! I'd love to write him in on the ballot...

I'm so ready for the ads and vitriol to stop! I'm planning to vote today, yes.

Oh I would definitely vote for Jed Bartlet. Yay West Wing! :)

Nobody bothered doing any ads in New York, so I'm a bit surprised to find the election upon us already. But I voted! I used a paper ballot for the first time in my life.

Yay, I agree! Voting is so important but the nastiness is so wasteful and destructive. Now we will have a month or two off before the campaigning starts for the next election! (An exaggeration, but not by much!)

Hooray! I'm so psyched. But also a little worried what the quiet will be like without all that white noise. TOO QUIET. :p

AMEN. I'm so glad it's over. I'm ready for a break!

Sometimes I wish Ray Bradbury could've been president…or Neil Gaiman…he'd be a good president :p Wouldn't that be nice, lol.
