I'm so excited to be participating in this blog tour for Courtney Summers' All the Rage I love her books and eagerly await each one! Here's all you need to know about All the Rage:
About All the Rage: The sheriff's son, Kellan Turner, is not the golden boy everyone thinks he is, and Romy Grey knows that for a fact. Because no one wants to believe a girl from the wrong side of town, the truth about him has cost her everything-friends, family, and her community. Branded a liar and bullied relentlessly by a group of kids she used to hang out with, Romy's only refuge is the diner where she works outside of town. No one knows her name or her past there; she can finally be anonymous. But when a girl with ties to both Romy and Kellan goes missing after a party, and news of him assaulting another girl in a town close by gets out, Romy must decide whether she wants to fight or carry the burden of knowing more girls could get hurt if she doesn't speak up. Nobody believed her the first time-and they certainly won't now-but the cost of her silence might be more than she can bear.
With a shocking conclusion and writing that will absolutely knock you out, All the Rage examines the shame and silence inflicted upon young women in a culture that refuses to protect them.
About Courtney: Courtney Summers lives and writes in Canada, where she divides most of her time between a camera, a piano and a word processing program. She is also the author of What Goes Around, This is Not a Test, Fall for Anything, Some Girls Are, Cracked Up to Be, and Please Remain Calm. You can visit her website, follow her on tumblr (I do! she's cool), like her on facebook, catch her musings on Twitter, and check out her instagram.
And also, I got a chance to ask a few questions! Check out what she has to say:
What is your favorite part about writing YA lit?
The teenage years are so messy and fantastic and awful and important all at once. There’s so much push-and-pull. You’re really starting to grasp the world around you, who you are, at the same time you’re losing and gaining friends going through the same things—everything is changing faster than you can get a hold on it and it can all be so defining. Exploring topics through that kind of lens really interests me as a writer.
Describe All the Rage in three words that don't include all the or rage :)
This was such a tough question! :)
One girl’s story.
If you could live in any fictional world, what would it be?
The world of Supernatural. You get everything you’ve got now, but with the added bonus of monsters and ghosts and angels and demons and witches! Maybe not everyone would consider
those things a bonus, but I totally do.
Haha, I totally knew she'd answer Supernatural, to be honest!
I hope I've managed to get your interest up in the book. I can promise you Courtney's books are all worth reading and they are the kind of books you just want to fly through. As an added last teaser, here's a quote from the book. Once you've read it, report back, I'd love to know what you think!
